Written by Marcy Cheek, Project Manager for Forty8Fifty Labs, we are excited to share her experience of the 2025 Atlassian Team Conference. Please note that this is a personal reflection, not an official representation of Forty8Fifty Labs.

It’s hard to describe just how meaningful this experience has been. I was first introduced to Atlassian products in late 2017, and by early 2018, I learned about the annual Atlassian Team conference held in Las Vegas. Attending this event in person has been a dream of mine ever since.

I never could have predicted that 2025 would be the year that dream came true—or just how rewarding the experience would be. While this year’s conference wasn’t held in Las Vegas, Anaheim has officially earned a special place in my heart. I’ll never forget it.

Day 1:

As an Atlassian Partner, my week kicked off on Monday with Partner Equip. Standing in line with my colleagues, we chatted about upcoming sessions and when our team members would arrive. There was something incredibly special about being there, proudly wearing my green Partner badge. The day began with a 9:00 a.m. kickoff that set the tone for the next day and a half of learning.

The first breakout session brought both challenges and highlights. Although I did catch the environmental note about bringing a reusable water container, I missed the part that advised bringing a laptop—so I couldn’t fully participate in compiling the PowerPoint during the group activity. Still, the upside was gaining valuable insights into the Atlassian Work System and connecting with new peers in the ecosystem.

Over lunch, I regrouped with my team and dove deeper into concepts like the Atlassian System of Work, the Atlassian Teamwork Graph, and how Atlassian Rovo is shaping the future of customer experience. I walked away from day one with six pages of notes and a head full of ideas—energized and ready for what day two had in store.

Day 2:

Tuesday was the big day. The morning and early afternoon wrapped up Partner Equip, and by late afternoon, Atlassian Team officially kicked off. With separate badges for each event, I walked around proudly wearing both—adding to the excitement and anticipation.

Partner Equip closed with inspiring insights from Atlassian leadership, leaving me motivated and eager to contribute even more as a Partner. Then it was time to switch gears—literally—trading my green Partner badge for the white customer badge as the main conference began.

Walking into the Anaheim Convention Center for Team ’25 was an unforgettable moment. The massive TEAM letters at the entrance felt surreal, and I smiled every time I passed them. The convention floor was initially overwhelming with so many booths and activities, but once I found our booth, I jumped straight into the Team ’25 Quest, determined to complete it.

While exploring the floor, I was approached by two Atlassian team members filming short video interviews. They were pulling questions from a fishbowl, and though I was nervous, I agreed to participate and ended up answering several questions on camera. It turned out to be a fun, energizing experience and added to the day’s excitement.

As soon as I completed enough Quest activities to qualify for the conference shirt, I made a beeline to the redemption booth to ensure I got my size. I was so proud to walk away with my exclusive Team ’25 shirt and pin.

Later, I attended two customer presentations before heading to the opening keynote featuring Atlassian Williams Racing. Although I’m not well-versed in Formula 1, it was fascinating to learn how Atlassian tools are used to enhance driver performance on the track. The day exceeded every expectation—and I couldn’t wait for what was next.

Day 3:

Wednesday brought some personal hurdles. However, I would not let it stop me from getting the most out of this experience. Beyond sharing the future for Atlassian, the Founder Keynote solidified not only my views of Atlassian but also the fact that I am meant to be here. I am meant to advocate for the adoption of Atlassian products, for finding new means of efficiency, and helping companies tailor them to meet their unique composition.

Later in the day, I attended a fantastic session on Jira Product Discovery, followed by the Women in Tech luncheon. Not only was the food easily the best of the week, but the experience itself was food for the soul. I had the privilege of sitting with three Atlassian team members and a fellow Jira admin, all of us experiencing our first Team conference. The panel discussion, featuring four women sharing their stories and advice, was both empowering and thought-provoking. They spoke about lifting others, stepping into leadership, and the value of mentorship. As someone who aspires to grow into a tech leadership role, the session made me pause and reflect. It’s not just about the title, it’s about the impact we create, the voices we amplify, and the connections we build. Though I had to leave the luncheon a bit early, the insights have continued to stay with me. Even after the buzz of the conference, I continue to reflect on how to continue refining my communication style and ensuring every voice is heard.

After Women in Tech, I attended two more sessions before one of the most beneficial sessions: Confluence, Jira, and Loom for effective collaboration. If you could have seen the space around my head during this session, it would have been full of light bulbs going off. The potential of Loom, especially when enhanced with Loom AI, completely reframed how I think about asynchronous work and communication. I started using it daily the moment I got back from the conference, and it’s already improved collaboration, reduced unnecessary meetings, and helped streamline communication across my team.

If you haven’t tried Loom yet, I can’t recommend it enough. It’s a small change that’s making a big impact.

Day 4:

Thursday arrived, and it was the last day of the conference. How could it be over so soon? While my body was exhausted from the go-go-go and standing on concrete for most of the day, my mind and heart were not ready to say goodbye. I attended four sessions on the last day and thoroughly enjoyed the closing keynote on the impact of AI on education. It was great to partner with Tempo to highlight to one of our clients how their products could help achieve their business needs and to run into clients during the closeout Bash event. From my point of view, I spent most of Thursday being grateful. I am grateful I had learned so much in four days, grateful to have met new people and seen old friends, to connect on technology that changes lives, and to see my potential growth in this space. The ideas I gained at Team ’25 continue to impact how I work daily and continue to inspire me.

It took me seven years to attend my first Atlassian Team Conference, and I hope it will not take another seven years to attend it again. Thank you, Atlassian, for creating products I love and Forty8Fifty Labs for allowing me to share that love with our clients.
